Just a few questions...


My birthday is coming up soon and my wife wants to get me some things for my car, but I can't decide what to get.

First, if I were to get the eibach pro kit springs what else do I need to get with them? caster camber, new shocks struts, alignment? I'd like to lower it but don't know what else Ill run into if i just buy the springs.


Second, what about some msd coil packs? How is that for my car?

Third, I was thinking about a C&L CAI intake for my car. I haven't heard much people talk about them. What are you guys' thoughts on those?

I'm just looking to spend a few hundred dollars if that for some slight performance gains. Any thing else I might need to look at?

shocks and struts? you still on stockers? if so, they need replaced anyways. c/c plates probably going to be needed if you drop more than 1.5in.

the coils packs, just get the msd's when yours go bad

as for C&L, i like them. i ran one on my car, installed a few more, thats the system i personally prefer.

for springs and struts on my 97 i got MaxSpeed springs and kyb struts i love that combination, i got msd coil packs and msd wires (msd coil packs not installed yet)...i also got the C&l intake tube with a Mac air filter, good intake for the cobras imo...best part about C&l is that you get to keep your strut tower brace on there if you have one

Yeah, still on stockers. I'll replace them out soon. The eibach pro kit springs don't drop more than 1.5 inches.

About the C&L intake.. I won't run into any problems with the car shutting off will I? I know my K&N did that to me alot because of the turbulence around the MAFS. This is what I'm looking at.

Being able to keep my stb on is the main reason why I would buy this cai over the other ones. Doesn't the C&L intakes come with a new MAFS or am I wrong about that?

ya i have a c&l and my car will shut off sometimes like if im exiting the highway and i just put it in N and coast it will die. never could figure out why i was thinkin maybe air to fuel ratio or somethin

The kit that your looking into does come with a new maf, mine didnt i just bought the intake tube and thats it, i dont see why you need a new maf for?

Hey, thanks man. That's exactly the answer i was looking for. I guess I won't be getting the c&L since your car shuts off, too. When i had my K&N it always shut off when coasting in neutral coming off of the highway and what not. Is your meter (mafs) pointed toward or away from the engine?

Good question, I ponder why they would supply me with a new mafs, too. Well I guess a C&L is out of the question becuase I don't feel like getting the car dyno tuned for a stuping cai. What about lowering springs? Do i really need the c/c plates if i just dropped my car 1.5"?

Alright, guys. Ended up going with the MSD coil packs. Thanks again for all the help! I'll be fine without using msd wires, correct? I have new ford wires on the car now with the stock coil packs.

I would advise returning them, they are complete junk.

i never had any issue with my car shutting off with the C&L set up. my buddy never had issue on his mach either. i had the entire set up like you were looking at, i loved it.

nope. I dropped my 96 GT 2 inches in the front with sportlines and technically needed them to get the stock alignment but no it was not enough to need them. like .8 degrees off from stock

he must have had a bad expierience with msd, but thats probly 1 in 100 chance of having trouble with a brand like msd, as for the C&l just search around for a used kit or just go with the intake tube and use your stock maf.
