cooling system problem(need help)

I have a 98 cobra, put a brand new radiator, water pump, and thermostat in and its still overheating. What else could cause it to over heat?

Is the car stock? Is the fan operating correctly (both high and low speeds)? How high are the coolant temps reaching?

Headgasket, electrolysis, collapsing hoses, air in the system, etc.

We need more info...

As soon as you fire it up, does it start overheating?

I would first try purging the system of air as usually this is the most common first problem.

the car is all stock, when i fire it up and its at a idle speed, the temp gauge goes from cold to have way. I drove it up the street and the temp gauge started going towards hot as the car heated up more. My fan is working fine.

Did it just start doing this? I'd recommend installing a "real" gauge or using a handheld tuner to datalog coolant temps to see what the actual temps are. Halfway on the stock gauge doesn't tell you anything.

yeah, couple a weeks ago was on the highway with the a.c. on, noticed my last radiator was cracked on the side. So i took it out put the new one in with the pump and stat, and started having this problem. Do you think the radiator having a crack could have let in air in the system?

I'm not real familiar with SN95 cars but you might have to burp it.

Yeah, Ryan, it's nearly the same procedure to burp it.

Then he definitely needs to do so, you can't just add water and go.
