is this a good clutch to use????
Hey guys need your opinion on a clutch kit...im looking through ebay and found a valeo king cobra clutch kit from billet depo. anyone used these? im liking this because it comes with the quadrant, cable and firewall adjuster for like $260. im running a stock 99 cobra engine for my swap with a aluminum flywheel, t45, 4:30 gears, long tubes, high flow cats and a tune and thats about it. so no crazy hp level..
I started my swap with my 2004 v6 auto, and everything is coming along good so far with parts. i found alot of good deals. I dont wanna spend too much more on this project because im getting close to 5k in the swap. I dont want to skimp on the clutch, I just need a resonable priced one that wont give me a headache. thanks for any opinions. |

Dont use an aftermarket clutch cable. They are for the most part garbage and suffer from stretching and tearing.
The oem cable is the best bet And for that cheep you get what you pay for. personally I'd recommend a Spec stage 2. People say they have problems but I loved my spec. It wasnt too heavy and it was pretty easy to throw. King cobra's imo are crap.

what about a spec stage 1? I found one on ebay auction and was thinking about bidding on it. also i believe my flywheel can use the 10.5 or 11. Not sure?? It was on the motor when i bought it and the steel insert measures 11" but they had a 10.5 clutch on it? so do you think i can use an 11"? I think all i need to do is move the guide pins to the other holes on the flywheel. Thanks for input
