burping
when burping my 98 cobra, does the car need to be runnning or not? Do I completely take the crossover cap off or slightly open it to release the air?

I take the cap completely off and find a funnel that fits nice and snug in the opening and fill it up so there's about an inch of coolant in the funnel. Then I start the car and let it warm up a bit, and squeeze the upper and lower radiator hoses. Just make sure that you keep the coolant level up in the funnel. If you have a big "gulp" it's going to suck all the coolant out of the funnel and pull air down with it. So after a few minutes the bubbling and burping should peter out. When that happens, shut the car off, and slowly unscrew the overflow cap and the coolant level in the funnel should slowly start to drop. Once the coolant is level with the top of the crossover, take the funnel out and put the plug back in.

![]() Yes, it needs to be running and with the heater on full blast so it goes through the core.
