New Cobra Owner - Advice

Hi all. I am new to this forum and to Cobras. Last week I purchased an '03 with almost full bolt-ons... Bassani catted H-pipe, Bassani cat back, ported Eaton/ pullied, tuned to 16psi, JLT intake, Fluidyne heat exchanger, ice box reservior, H&R springs, caster camber plates, full coil-over with poly U bushings, short shifter, clutch, 14" Brembos up front, IRS brace, 18" replicas gloss black, 305 nittos, Saleen wing and side vents, smoked tails and fogs, HID heads, gauges, DVD/GPS touchscreen. I'm sure I forgot some stuff and don't know exactly what parts off the top of my head, but I will post as soon as I find out... the owner claims a best of 11.40 and with the current tune could possibly go 11.1s - does this sound right?

*This is the most amazing car I have ever driven. It's acceleration and handling are, I feel, in the super car realm. during my hour and 15 minute test drive I took a 45mph right uphill bank at 90mph and there was ZERO body roll and ZERO tire noise and it did not feel ouut of control in the least... this blew my mind. Not to mention it is the sexiest car I have ever heard.

I am picking the car up early next week after the owner re-powder coats the wheels for me. I am "piss my pants" excited ...the first car I ever had was an '89 Supercoupe 5spd and I loved it. Ever since then I wanted an eaton supercharged 4v. I know, quite the step up. I fell in love when I drove a Terminator for the 1st time and knew it was for me, but enough blabbering.

Any advice or maintanance suggestions would be much appreciated.

...How the heck do I upload files? It's not letting me attach .jpgs but there are a few photos in my album.

Welcome to the site. Sounds like you found a Cobra with some good mods. The next step is to upgrade the fuel system and go with an aftermarket twin screw like a Whipple or Kenne Bell. At 16 psi, you pretty much have that Eaton maxed out. And an 11.4 sounds believable to me. There are plenty of Eaton guys running that and better.

I got the seller down to $16.8k + wheel re-coat. With all the mods and sonic blue I am extremely happy with the price.
And yes, the suspension setup is sweet in the twisties

Ps - sick color combo... Blue and black

Appreciate the compliment. Don't have the cash for an upgraded supercharger. Plus the rocket-like acceleration feels just fine.

Does 11.1x sound reasonable with my car? ...obviously the driver makes a world of difference. I am still getting the feel of her.

11.1 could be very reasonable. But there is no way to tell without taking it to the track. Some people are in the 10s with the eaton and I think 2 people are in the 9s.

Thats 1 helluva price your giving for that car man. Congrats!!

I would just keep that blower and do a 50-75shot of nitrous on it for track occasions or if you ever get the need for more speed. Which you will get used to the power the car makes and want more at some point, I think we all do.

how many miles are on the car? your one lucky dude. The termis were a little out of my price and insurance range so i had to settle with a 99 cobra and got a supercharger for it Most termis are reliable but i know of 2 people with them that have had a list of problems. Like crazy amount of problems. One of my buddies with a termi was on the e way with me today and went to do a 3rd gear pull and his pulley shot off ripping his belt and the pulley punched a hole in his power steering fluid container and he lost power steering at 80. tow costed 80 bucks and hes lookin at 500 bucks or so to fix it. He was happy about it to because most of his problems costed him more than 500. Then theres some people who drive them to 100k with no issues whatsoever. To be honest your termi kind of sounds like it was beat on but i mean what mustang hasnt?

59k miles w/ Clean CarFax. I understand your skepticism, but i say nay...
Backround: original owner was a girl who is crazy into fast cars. before Venomus she had a TT supra modded. Her dad has a '98 Viper GTS and a couple 350Zs, brother has a zinc termi, sister has a black termi, and boyfriend has a kenne bell Lightning and a twin turboed Lightning. The boyfriend works for a few performance shops in the area and has performed all the tuning and installs. The main shop he works at specifically focuses on Terminators and Lightnings. And he's down to keep it running smooth, which I feel is a lot of added value.
Some of the best parts were chosen for the mods and the engine is so smooth and the shifter slides into place very nicely, not to mention the clutch feels almost new for being 2 years old. The girl daily drove it lightly... supposedly, but I believe it based on it's mechanical condition. At 45k miles the syncros were replaced and at 50k the radiator was replaced.
Reason for selling is that the car has been sitting for 4 months. She needed a bigger car for her little girl.
I might just sell her my F150.

btw - Sick Cobra. White with Black wheels/tails = bad ass

There's not too many camaros in my area - one SS super clean. But at work, there's a Nissan GT-R, Tesla, a bunch of C6 Z06s, 2 Zr1s (i was staring and the owner floored it in 1st through the parking lot... i almost shit my pants), 911 Turbos, a stock silver termi , sti's (not rice), and some rice... Evos lol. Not to bash Evos except for the fact that they are balls ugly.
My bud at work also has a cammed full bolt on v6 Jetta with full suspension and i thought that stuck to the road like glue before my termi.

not after driving them back to back. sure it can keep up but the z06 but its 10x easier to drive, you dont feel any body roll, and it just feels more planted overall than a cobra.

I have track driven the 405hp C5 Z06 and my car beats it in every aspect. My dad has track driven a C6 Z06 w/ intake and he says the only thing the 'vette has on my termi is shifter, steering feel, and driving position.

lol alright so you guys are arguing that a 2 seater vette, thats 3 years newer, twice the price tag, weighs 500lbs less, is all motor, and revs out higher is inferior to a 03/04 Cobra (outside of shifter, steering, and driving position). thats a bit of a stretch they are incredible cars, but i have both in my garage and no matter how much i want my car to be as agile as the c6z06 it never will be with out massive weight reduction, more power (which i already have), more rigid chassis, and a full suspension by MM or Grigs.

Well... I am jealous - z06s (C5 or C6) are amazing out of the box and respond to mods really well. But I made the comment about my car with said modifications vs. a stock C5 Z and a C6 Z with intake.

Also, I think it's cool that I can throw a couple of snowboards in the back of my ride....

Again, you have an amazing car and I was looking at C5 Zs, but I don't have the option of not having a back seat.
