Cams for the mach 1

what is the best cam to get for my 03 mach 1 full slp exhaust, jlt cai. i take it to the strip every weekend,but i also cruise around in it with friends but its still my dd. and prices would be nice as well

What are your future plans for the car, N/A or FI? Either way a custom grind is the best option. If you want an off the shelf cam the Comp Stage 2s 106400 are good for N/A. That should net you in the 360rwhp area, but maybe a little less since you don't have any intake work done yet.

my plans are n/a basically i im not doing a sc or anything. because i can never save enough money for it. my plans are to get cams do head work and then finnally 100 shot of n2o

You pay 1000-1500 to have a company make you a set to your spefications. Figure out everything you are going to do to the car and then give whoever you want to make your cams a call and they will help you figure out what you need.

If you're having a hard time saving for a supercharger you'll have just as bad of a time with cams if you have to pay for labor too.

Cams are damn expensive on a 4v to do everything correctly. I don't think they end up being a whole lot cheaper than an S/C...

I am looking in to FR500 cams for my car. The install and tune is gonna cost more then the cams though! Keep that in mind.

If you can stand to wait on the extra money to come in get the Comp 106400s. FR500s are rather mild and you have to really listen for a lope at idle.

Not worried about a lope at all. Not really wanting to put a stout cam in the car anyway. Still a possibility for the comps though.

You'll probably see a 10-15rwhp over the FR500s with the 106400s. That's a stage 2 cam btw not a race cam.

i can install the cams myself with the help of my uncle( a mechanic for ford) and he will also make me a tune on his dyno so thats not a problem

As in Steven McCarley, or a local chapter president? If its Steven, he is a great guy. I have talked to him on several occasions. I haven't seen him on a while though.
