So what is a eaton swap worth?

Well I am bouncing a few ideas around and am having an issue finding out how much they are worth. I have seen a few kits that are near complete go for 1700-2000 with parts that look like crap and are missing major components. How much do you all think a clean setup with a stock port eaton, 2.8 pulley, billetflow idler, JLT Carbon fiber RAI, and everything else I can do away with while converting to a 99/01 cobra or mach setup? Then on the other hand what is the going rate for a NA setup? The only thread I could find close to what I am trading the guy wants a NA setup +2700. Does this sound right?

Wow, I figured this would get some attention in the general forum. Maybe I need to move it.

i dont think that sounds right at all. I can see 2700 for everything and no swap but it should be lower since you are swapping.

+1, it's hard to tell with Eaton swaps.

I've seen some complete kits go for $2k, while others have gone for 3K. I've seen complete swaps + trade from a 99/01 guy for like $1500 + traded parts.

It really just depends to be 100% honest with you. You'll have to set yourself on a price and either stick with it, or be willing to negotiate a bit.

That is the thing with Eaton swaps. The prices vary GREATLY! I really want to do one. However anytime I get some money up for it, everyone thinks their shit is pure gold. Then I say fuck it. Then everyone is giving the shit away. Fuckers.

I'm surprised they don't go for more. They may not make the greatest power but they very damn reliable and include alot of parts for the money.

It just depends. You can piece the thing together cheaply if you're smart about it and watch the forums.

But it's just like the stock market. Sometimes the price for a kit is up, and sometimes the price for the kit is down.

I pieced everything together for my GT Eaton build together for cheap. Got the eaton, maf, tb, plenum, heat exchanger, ic tank, new ic pump, new ford racing injectors, all new gaskets, and a pulley for like 900 bucks. Just shop around and such. All would would need to complete my list would have been the intercooler plate itself that the blower mounts to and some other lines and hoses for the most part.

thats the way to do it!

Now if someone would make a blower manifold for b heads.

Kenne bell makes one, but you gotta buy their entire setup (3700 for 150ish hp? how about no!)

And then you're still missing the timing cover, lower intake, intercooler, and the whole belt system. Just the lower intake and intercooler will suck up another $600. Doesn't seem like you saved much money. If you had finished getting the parts to complete a 4V you would have been well above $2000.

I would say it depends on how fast you want to move it, or if you want to move it at all. 2500+ the trade will likely never sell, 2k+ the trade you will have to sit on it awhile and I feel like 1,500+ the trade will move quickly.

I would start in the middle at 1,750+ the trade.

I was looking at putting it on my 2v GT with the $1400 TQ TK adapter kit. Total would have been around 2700 including the dyno time.
