Question

Odd noise/vibration, Slipping clutch?

Hey guys. I went out for a ride a few nights ago and did some 2nd - 4th gear blasts. I was crusing back towards my school and I went to just casually pass a truck, so I put my foot into it (basically WOT) in 6th gear going probably 70, and all of a sudden my rpms shot up to like 3000. My normal reaction to that would be I'm getting wheelspin so I let off quick (at this point I didn't hear the noise because I had music fucking blasting) I thought that maybe I had just hit a wet patch or something, until it happened again when I tried accelerating again in O/D (just to pass, like 10mph increase). Turned my music off and I heard a weird grinding type noise and could feel it when the rpms shot up (sorta thought I blew the rear diff because I don't have an IRS brace yet) I tried replicating this in 5th with minor results. 2, 3, and 4 seem to be just fine from idle to redline at WOT.

My question is, could this be a clutch problem? My clutch grabs at the VERY top, and there is NO free play. I have a RAM HD Powergrip clutch and upgraded TOB. I was wondering that if whoever installed that clutch right before i bought the car didn't turn the firewall adjuster in enough and maybe it was slipping when I hit the boost in overdrive? Must be a decent strain putting about 460+ rwtq at it in 6th gear at low revs. I was going to try and turn the adjuster in towards the firewall because its grabbing way up top.

BUMP! Hopefully it was just a quick slip of the clutch.
