650rwhp advice

In a Mach one. Help! I'm not sure what to do for internals/compression. With the right rotating assembly, what can this block hold?? And I would like a turbo. What brand do you reccomend? And what boost levels will get me there.

Really?? Damn, they make a rotating assembly to handle that as well right? My dream was to get a boss302 block for my fox, boost it, and run 9's....But I have to sell it And I've always loved the mach 1's, so I plan on grabbing one and turboing it

I was just wondering about the actual block. I'm sure they make internals strong enough to withstand what I want I want to be able to up the boost if I want and make even more power.

keep your car running---leave your current block in your car and drive it as is while you build a monster.

if you try and use iron, you probably will have issues at high hp (+900)
Find a mark viii aluminum block...tear it down, and dig in!

oh and go with je, mahle, or diamond.

manley is just repackaged chinease crap

Get a last production aluminum block, 8:5.1 compression and manley rods , JE pistons. 18-19 pounds will get you over that goal easy. I went with a Hellion Kit and is going in just in time for thxgiving. I'll post the results once complete.

To whoever said up there that Manley are just repacked chinese crap, what exactly do you drive and what base do you have for such an idiotic comment?

Don't forget about fuel supply, tranny/clutch upgrade and such. Eventually, if you go for it, be prepared to spend big money.

It is common knowledge that manley outsourced its forgings to china.

8.5:1 comp is insanity. 10:1 with proper quench and a good piston, and you will still be able to run pump gas. Lots of torque in and out of boost. No compromise.

Agree to disagree. High compression and high boost don't work very well on the 4.6. Been there, done that.

Manley's are still excellent rods and products. They still have a name and tradition to protect.

"Been there done that"...on a stock block! =D

Its been proven that high compression and boost go together... you just need very nice parts.

13 psi and 700whp? Sounds like impossible? Think again

noo you got it backwards, high comp and high boost doesnt go together, theres a reason you can only boost like 6-7 psi on the stock mach 1 comp...

i might sound crazy as a fox but listen.

The import crowd has been turboing high comp engines for years.

I wish I could say it was my idea, but it isn't. Many folks over at ModularFords have done high comp, high boost builds. Including a 10.7:1 2.3L whipple'd build.

Haha I don't know what else to say.

Just don't say anything else. You just can't come in here and say something can be done without knowing the results and consequences just because you googled it and found a couple of cases. The OP asked about options on a MACH1 block, not a full build, bored out cylinders, stoked out block - can you "BUILD" a high compression+F/I motor? Of course, but there is so much more involved in it and it does not work well on the 4.6 mod motor without pretty much changing to a bigger block, period.

Or be prepared to run race fuel and not have a daily driver.

Exactly. high compression and high boost make great numbers, but will require race gas for sure. For max power on pump gas you want low compression and high boost. You will loose off boost performance and mpg, but who cares!
