SRA swap brake question

Well, oh jeez I sound like a noob. Ummm, so my '01 has the solid rear axle swap done (at a legit shop and everything). If I want to change the brakes, are the rear brakes still the Cobra brakes, or did the change to the SRA require GT brakes?

Is there even a difference in the rear brakes?

Thanks guys, any input is appreciated

I think you just have to get new, bigger rotors over the GT for the Cobra calipers to fit

I see. thank you. You wouldn't happen to know the visual difference between the two...just so I know which ones, would you? and reps.

Gt rotors will be smaller than cobras, i believe cobras are 11.75 (considered 12") inch and GT's are 9 something (considered 10") this pic shows the difference between GT and cobra calipers

the calipers are the same but the little cross peice is the only difference

the cobra rotors are a bit wider so they use thinner pad, if you do infact have GT brakes the anti moan braces will say LH for the left side and RH for the right side

on the cobra ones they say COBRA RH or COBRA LH these are anti moan braces

if you have GT brakes and you decide to upgrade to cobra you will need to swap brake brackets, this requires pulling the axles

this is the brake bracket (cobra one. GT looks exactly the same but it is a bit smaller)

if you decide to upgrade i reccomend buying this

Ford Racing Rear Caliper Bracket Kit with Rotors (Rear Pair) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

it is so hard to find the cobra anti moan braces seperatly as they were only available on 94-98 cobras the kit is a fairly good deal and you can make your calipers work

they were free , The guy selling them was also selling an MM panhard bar and CHE bar. he said if i bought all 3 he would throw in the rotors for free. I dont really need the pan hard bar so i will just sell it when it arrives. and they are for cobra brakes so 11.65 inches i believe.

and i was also going for looks too, and since they are made by ford they will be good quality and shouldnt crack on me.

Just finally checked lol and I do in fact have the Cobra rear calipers with that lower crosspeice...so I assume it is the full cobra brakes (the front ones just say cobra so I'm sure those are cobra. Plus IDK why they wouldn't be. I mean, who swaps GT brakes onto a Cobra? Some tard nugget? I thought so...

lots of people do it to their SRA cobras or mach 1's so they can run 15" wheels at the track.
