Mach 1 driveshaft
Is it worth is to upgrade to the ford racing aluminum driveshaft? Not sure how the stock one is one the 2003 mach 1 but was wondering if it was worth the money. Also want to upgrade to 4.10 gears, anyone have any before and after quarter mile times with their upgraded gears? Thanks in advance!!

you'll get mixed reviews on the d/s, that mod is up to you. as for the gearing, 4.10's are good all around gear. if i were in a 4v n/a car, i personally would do 4.30's.

No times unfortunately, but I can say it is a worthwhile mod. Brought my car to life.
As for the drive shaft, everyone has a different opinion on that. If I keep my car it will probably be one of my next mods. I want to find out for myself if it is worth it or not. I have been told that it will help smooth out the ride of the vehicle by cutting down vibrations, but not do really anything in the way of speed.

Definitely do 4.30s. You won't feel the difference in the driveshaft like you will the gears. But weight loss is weight loss any way you look at it.

The only thing about going to 4.30's is this is my DD for the summers, so how bad will this hurt my gas mileage? And thanks for the advice on the driveshaft, i think i'll hold off on that for a while and spend that money on something different!

I have 4.10s and I wouldn't go 4.30s just because of where it will sit on the hwy however if you don't drive the interstate a lot like I do I bet 4.30s would be a blast.

My Mach is my DD year round. I wish I would have went 4.30s even before I got the T56 and I don't even race the thing. The T56's gearing is even worse so now I'm thinking 4.56s. MPG difference will be negligible if you could even tell a difference.

Well to be honest, i really dont care that much about gas mileage because when i bought the car, i went from a v6 to this and its better on gas then the v6, so that doesnt really worry me. But, if i go with 4.30's i heard i would have to change them out if i ever supercharge it, which i am planning on doing eventually. Is this true, or can the 4.30's handle it? As far as highway driving goes, i drive the highway a total of like 7 hours every month, not very much at all.

You're probably going to have to change out the gears if you go with 4.10s if you supercharge it. And in the relative scheme of things gears aren't that expensive and the labor isn't either if you shop around, relatively speaking.

If you go with 4.10s you'll love them for about a month and then you're going to kick yourself in the balls for not going with 4.30s.
