P&P TB and Plenum

Is there a write up on the proper way to P&P a cobra throttlebody and plenum? I have searched and come up with nothing.

well, you wont find anything on that since the cobra's dont have a plenum. the t/b, not sure if there is an actuall write up for that.

terminators do have a plenum, between the Tb and the blower. I know I could just take teh dremel to them but i would like to know if there are certian things to watch out for like the IAC port, the IAC mounting knobs, ect.

oh, for some reason i was thinking you were looking into the 99-01 cobra's only. i can do a write up, but it will probably be kind of vague unless i took more pics than i thought. are you welding it up or just porting whats there?

may do both. I have a small build underway (making a new sheetmetal intake plenum for my kenne bell) and am debating using the 03/04 plenum, or just make it all out of sheet metal and just use an 03/03 style TB. I am porting the TB for sure. I may just sell the plenums.

But a write up on both porting and welding up the plenum would be nice.

i tig my plenum's up, so thats what i have as far as finished pics are. if you have time and ability to tig, you can modify the stock plenum to get fairly close to accufab or dragon. the short side benefits from a little tig and work no matter if its stock or aftermarket. depending on how much boost you are going to push, then the stock t/b will be next choking point.

at teh moment Im peaking at 11lbs. but hoping the new plenum will free up a little bit. Im thinking I am just gonna delete the plenum and make it all sheet metal. Would make it easier and have less parts. BUt still want to port the TB.

i have a decent amount of money wrapped up in my porting stuff. i have a small cabinet that houses my porting grinders (still go more grinders to buy), cartridge rolls, mandrels, carbide bits, head stand, etc. i do quiet a bit of porting, so i constantly buying something to make porting easier on myself.

If you look through a stock plenum. You can see dips in the casting that partrude into the inside of the plenum. You fill the dips on the outside by tig welding them. Then you can remove the restriction from the inside.

i have read alot about gasket matching to remove material for more volume and better flow...i have started on my gt but have found i should buy stock in carbide grinding bits cause you can time the life of them on a stopwatch

you must have either cheap bits or just hardened bits. i dont have many go dull very often, but i also spend a decent amount of money on mine.
