i want to build a new 4v motor and dont know what to get
my 4v motor threw a rod 2 years ago and the motor was fixed but it still has oil just dissapearing sometimes so im thinking over the next year or so ill save up my $ and buy a new block,cams,maybe heads if i need them,pistons etc
i need help picking what to get i wAnt to buy a kenne bell one day so if i was building a motor i want all forged parts what block would be the strongest, what pistons,rods and crankshaft to go with id like to make the motor a 5.0 also. do i need new heads or can i use my stock 4v 01 cobra heads. and last i would like to buy comp stage 2 cams. so i just need you guys to tell me what i should/should not get thanks.

teksid block or the 05-09 aluminum 4.6
JE pistons oliver rods heads are optional 03/04 cobra and 03/04/05 aviator heads are optimal

just reuse your stock block, yout stock forged crank, and have your heads worked on.
for rods and pistons, get brand of your your preference, and do a set of cams that are made more for boost. comp cams are decent, but not really made fo a PD blower. for a 5.0, you will have to resleeve your block, buy big bore block, or stroke it.

or buy my shortblock for 3000...
5.1 stroker all forged brand new, still on the crate. Was 3500 when I purchased it XD Rated at 1000+ horses

Modmax rods CP pistons see if you have a teskid, if so, use that. |

i dont know if i should use the stock crank because
1. i dont know if the 99-01 cobras had forged cranks 2.i dont know if i trust the crank i have now my brother threw a rod with this crank(unless the dealership changed the crank which i dont think they did)

Look into the boss 5.0 big bore block and work off of that. it will get you 5.0L of displacement and is a pretty strong block. If you go that way you just need the larger 3.7inch pistons and then you can use stock sized rods and crank.

if the crank isnt cracked or broke, its fine. no matter if its cast or forged. this is where magnaflux is handy, that will tell the tale of its worth. all 96-04 cobras recieved forged cranks as well.
