When to use an after market "racing" oil pan
Hello, im building a 301 stroker in my 2001 Cobra. I'll be using stage 2 cams, the car has full header-back exhaust, under-drive pulleys, air intake, 4.10 gears, short throw, and a few other odds and ends. It's going to be boosted by spring as well. My question is when should i use an aftermarket "racing" oil pan. From what I've noticed they arent really oversized or anything, just a different oil catch style im guessing? But I believe the 01 oil pans have a good catch patters already so im not really seeing the reason of getting one. Can someone confirm this for me?
