Good luck with the build man. This is one hell of a project. I did the same but swapped out all the Mach 1 stuff into my 6er. Good Luck

hey thanks...I've been working on cars YEARS so I dont think I will have a hard time, just a little more time consuming. As long as you lay out a plan your good to go. Ive actually been working on this project since april 2010, getting parts together from here and there. I did TONS of research for everything. I now know what every single parts function is and when Im done I'll probably be able to tell you exactly how many nuts and bolts are in the car. lol

nice work. i'm about to put a mark viii motor in my 04. anyhow, got a question for anyone that can answer. on another board, i was told i could use a ecm and wiring harness from an 01-04 gt. i would just need to extend a few connectors. i hope thats correct as i just yanked a computer out of an 03 gt at pic a part the other day. can i use this computer along with an 01 cobra harness and 03 gt gauges? also, the mark has a brand new radiator. would that fit in the mustang? and i dont need a different k member do i? just different motor mounts?

Don't use mishimoto radiators, your better off tossing it in the garbage because the welds will eventually crack on it.

I dont know what the calibration code is. My motor came with one but it was a aftermarket for a stand alone system.

Update on my 04 v6 to 99 cobra swap...........everything is sweet! I had it done since feb 19th and I was so happy to hear it run. I started doing the research and gathering parts since last april, but the actual build only took like two weekends. I know my cars every nut, bolt, wire connector and everything in between...lol. It was fun, had some bugs to work out with it running lean, turned out to be one of two things-either dirty injectors or weak coils. dont know which but I replaced the coils and used seafoam at the same time. Then inspection was coming so here in pa I have to deal with emissions so I made sure everything was working correctly and the readiness monitors were ready, well turned out that the sniper special forces tuner I used actually turned off the monitors because it allows the computer to process faster with them off. So after calling sniper, they emailed me a emissions inspection tune and today it passed! woohoo..
Now for my question...I have heard some stories about inspection places doing an inspection and then the state (PA) comes knocking down their door because the vin in the pcm didnt match the cars vin because of the swap. They (the state) thinks the inspection place is plugging into another car to pass it. so has anyone thats done a swap get their car inspected and then later down the road have any trouble with the state or inspection place?? I mean, my car is inspected and everything, but when the state sees that the cars vin doesnt match the pcm vin that got recorded during the emission test-what can they do to me?

I've begun gathering parts to do this swap based on your list above, was there anything that you missed?

None that I can think of...what motor are you going with? just make sure you get convertible wiring...and a tuner to turn off pats. I went with sniper special forces, works great.
