5.0 Stroker Question

Hello, I have the Eagle 4.9 flat top stroker kit for my 01 Cobra (teksid block). Upon tearing the motor down i found out the previous builder (done by previous owner) slightly over-bored the cylinders and my new builder says ill have to either keep it the same and deal with the little chatter its doing (compression checks fine) or re-sleeve it because as is, the sleeves supposedly wont hold to the boost and nitrous which I'm applying to it. My question is, I believe it would be easier/cheaper to find a replacement teksid block and just have it bored 20 over (to the right specs) and apply the stroker kit to it. do you all have any opinions on this or should i go with another block for this application. Ive read/heard of the teksid blocks holding up to a supposedly 1200hp. Looking forward to the responses

What size overbore are the pistons that you bought? 0.020"? What is your current bore size?

Yeah your best bet is to find a new block, you should be able to find one for a couple 100 bucks.

The stroke is 3.750". At +.020" bore, with a rod length of 5.950". The compression is 10.8. If it would be safe to do so i could bore it .030 and just order the pistons and rings to match a .030 bore. Im stuck with the ever lasting decision of doing a high comp boost build or low comp with dished pistons.

compression will only get into the 10's with off the shelf piston. you can boost a decent amount on pump gas. put some race gas in it, and boost as much as you desire.
