Need Reassurance / Your Thoughts
Ok, so ass Yall know, I just got the 03 Mach 1 with 96K on her. I bought from a dealer and brought it back with a couple issues that they are taking care of. The 1st issue I brought it back for was the TSB for the 3650 tranny to have all the upgraded parts installed since it was popping out of gear in 2nd and having gear clash.
I also had them take a look at why my cylinder #5 was missing.. Two days later (Today) they told me your assumptions were wrong and it wasn't just a bad coil pack.. He then told me they had to order a new cylinder head for driver side. I tried to poke and pry for info but the service rep didn't know all the details but told me that the cylinder head was damaged and they had to order a new one, parts come in from Detroit next week and should be done by Thursday. My worries are: Is having 1 New Cylinder Head bad JooJoo??? I'm reallyu worried about this and just want to know your thoughts. I am Glad I got this car from the Dealer with the 90 day warrenty, cause the money in parts between the Tranny, The Cylinder Head, The Leather Seats getting Reupholsteried, dents taking out and painting the passenger door, new brakes, rotors, tires, head lights, had to set them back lol. I'm just worried about the one new cylinder head with the other having 96K on it...

As long as it's free then don't worry because if you were going to pay for it then get the heads ported and new internals

well IMO i would just have them all changed, along with whatever else is in the way just to have peace of mind.
i mean they are already gonna have it all ripped apart might as well ya know? it would cost you alot less to do it now than to down the road do it when the other 7 might go out. also if there is ANYTHING else that can be replaced while in there i would have it done. |

This is all warrenty work, and the coil packs are fine, its something with the head that got jacked up so they are replacing the head and some other parts to go with it. This is not outa pocket one bit... I bought the car a month ago and they have the 90 guarantee

Yeah if there was no warrenty and I was doing it, I'd have both heads done with PNP and go forged rods and pistons. But yeah... Its all FReeeeeee

what year mach? worst case senario you have 03 heads with less threads for the plug and get 05+ heads on the other side thats all new and clean and with twice the plug threads.

Damn sounds like a sweet deal. I need the new internals put in my 3650, as my 3rd gear synchro is practically gone.

Oh yeah they are loosing money, Cause I paid 11,500 OTD and they have done quite a bit of work... If it were out of pocket Iam sure it is around 3K or damm close...

You will be fine, its not uncommon for 03 heads to have problems, you are better off with a newer head on one side instead of matching 03 heads. I wouldnt worry about it too much if I were you.

My Brother! I still have the 5.0... Dam Computer is taking a shit on me.. Other then that shes running good man. I leave in a month for afghan and then When I come home I am probably getting a C4 and high stall and a good Nitrous kit... Should be a blast at the track then..
I am getting a Divorce now so I sold the truck and got the Mach 1 cause hell I always wanted one Love the new hood man!!!

![]() I read your issues with the 5.0. does sound like the computer. there not that expensive, and you should be able to just swap your "chip"/tune over to the new one. Don't have to much fun in Afgan just because your getting a divorce, haha. Don't volunteer for point man to much just because you don't have someone waiting at home for you no more ![]() all jokes aside, im sorry to hear about that. has to be really really rough. C4 trans, 4000rpm stall, and a 150 shot will get that car in the 10's pretty easy. so I think you got the right modifications planned out. The hood was a spur of the moment buy. had a good deal on it, and I've been getting pretty bored with the looks of the car, so I said what the hell. spun all the main bearings in the bottom end, so im currently rebuilding the motor myself. should be back on the road in a month. then the nitrous is going back on the car ASAP.

Damm man, I am sorry to hear about the engine... That sucks. Yea I know what you mean about going over there careless cause I have no one to come home to and I have to keep telling myself to not go on every convoy they have lol. I am almost 1/2 tempted to throw a S/C on the mach lol but probably wont since it is a DD, I installed the usual bolt ons (X-pipe, SLP LM, JLT CAI, Short throw, Springs, upper and lowers, sct tuner and some look good goodies) Welp I got to get off here, Speed has a Mustang Boss 302 special I wanna watch!

a on3performance turbo at 5-10 psi would be plenty to make some GREAT power on that mach, and if you kept the rpm's low, it would behave like a stock mach 1.
They show - 460rwhp/435rwtrq @ 6.4 psi and 526/550 On 9.4 psi from there website http://on3performance.com/mustang4v.html
