misfire in cyl 1 AND 6

2 days after i got my car back from being tuned, my check engine light has been on. i scanned it, and it said missfire in cyl 1. so i cleared it, replaced the plug. it had a slight hint of white on the end of it. well i've replaced all 8 plugs since then, and the plug in cylinder 1 three times.

now, im getting a missfire in cylinders 1 and 6. I just bought msd coil packs and installed those as well. still gettin a missfire. The plug wires are fairly new, and appear to be in good condition.

sometimes at low rpm i think i feel the missfire at very light throttle. and someone pointed out when my car was idling that they could see it missfire on rare occasions. it doesnt do it all the time, but it does it enuff to keep the light on.

any ideas? im getting so frustrated im tempted to get rid of the car.

get new stock ford coil packs. While you are waiting for those to come in do a compression test. That's really the only things you can do. Try different wires too.

Will stock coil pack work with as much power as he's got?

are there a brand thats better than msd's? i know there are ACCELS, but i think msd owns them. I also still have the stock coil packs. Im wondering if my injectors are bad or something. its odd that 2 cylinders right beside each other are missfiring

OEMs are the best. Just get two new packs. Sean Hyland says to replace them every 30-40k miles for max spark voltage if I remeber right

Check and see if there's moisture in the plugs usually at the end of the valve covers I guess from the humidity moisture tends to build up in the plugs and and in the coil pack.. happened on my 4.6 changed the plug Nd coil.. pull the coil off the plug Nd see if its rusty a bit..it was good for a while until the same thing happened again so I decided to seal the end of the covers with silicone to block the moisture.. and its been good ever since

i replaced the coil packs already to try to remedy the missfire and it didnt. i guess it could be moisture, but it never had a missfire with the supercharger. has to be something since i went turbo, something that i changed i guess.

You need to try a NEW oem pack

i'm telling you, its something to do with spark 1/6 share the same coil

so i got a HUUUGE multiple missfire engine code. well i found some damage on my one msd coil pack(bought it used) so i put one stock one back on, and the missfire went away. HECK YES (and i swapped the coil pack back after i had bought a kenne bell BAS) oh well, i guess i can use it and still see some gains?
