It depends. For mileage purposes, yes. The first gear is longer in the T56 and the 5th gear is nice for "high speed" within city limits cruising (45-55mph). For performance on a bolt-on Mach 1/Cobra, no. It takes forever to get through 1st gear and this is coming from someone with 4.10s, cammed, and has a 7200 RPM shift point. It is stronger than the T3650 but that's about its only advantage performance wise. You're better off to rebuild your T3650 with upgraded components or get a TKO500/600. If you do go with a T56 and plan on racing it a lot I'd go with a 4.30 rear gear or a 4.56 in a bolt-on car/small cam car like mine.

Not now. It's not worth it for a car that I don't really race. I don't (well didn't now that it is closed) take the car to the track and I may have 2-4 randoms a year. Plus I can't get traction now as it is and I don't want to pay for DRs when I would never use them. I'm pretty much done with the car save for some new rotors until I'm out of school. BTW I'm looking for patients. If you know anyone close to me that you could refer I'd appreciate it.

this is where i got the trans for my mach when i changed it. they have a worked 3650 and they also do a 26spline input on it when i got mine last may i payed $1650 i be leave it was.. ProMotion Powertrain FORD/GM Drivetrain Specialist

ill be going to the magic dragon in lake of the ozarks.. also street machine nationals is coming back to springfield this year in i belive sept.. Were do you guy live. im here in springfield
