2003 cobra has bad idle and breathing problem

Now that the tranny problem is taken care of, my next issue with this car (which all of a sudden at 60K miles is having plenty)..is the horrible idle ive been dealing with for a year. The idle gets stuck just above 1000rpm at red lights and takes me letting off the clutch in firat a tad to get it to drop...its starting very weak on cold startups...the idle drops sometimes badly enough to stall until the car warms up..i know this may mean replacing the tps but is there anything else it could be? Again, please..educated answers only..im so sick and tired of being turned in the wrong direction by people who love to talk

what about your IAC? idle air control valve how old is it? Have you cleaned it? what aboout o2 sensors? what about your maf?

+1 They're known for getting gummed up and usually act up when cold. You have two options either clean it out and hit it with a little wd40 every oil change or go ahead and replace it.

My little brothers mustang had the same problem a few weeks back, cleaning the iac cleared up the issue perfectly

We usually meet up at the hang outs in the area but all the people I hangout with their cars are down at the moment. 3 tt builds, 1 st and a ysi car. We were dropping the motor in one of the TT cars tonight.

I sprayed the IAC and TPS with throttle cleaner when I first noticrd it..it didnt do shit. I also sprayed the intake and throttle body..again no affect..ill do it again I just dont wanna have to buy a million parts for this thing at once.

You sprayed the tps? Why would you do that? Sounds to me like you need to have someone look at it.

Anyways, if you really did remove your IAC and spray and it's still not idling correctly, you probably just need to replace it. Only other thing is a vacuum line might have disconnected or cracked

Id check out all the cop's and pull a plug and inspect it as well.... does it run fine at wot?
