Suspension and gear question

So like I've been saying, I'm getting a new rear end soon, but since I don't think I'm going to do any performance mods, I'll probably lean towards a new suspension set up designed for auto cross rather than launching. Does posi and auto cross mix, or stick with limited slip? Also, not to sound... newb... but is it stupid to go with steeper gears and limited slip?

If the government hadn't have jewed me this year in taxes, I'd have everything by now.

are you going to just do auto x? if so go with a IRS not a straight axle. unless you plan on drag racing then keep the straight or build up the IRS. The IRS will be greatly better for auto x

Isn't posi and limited slip the same thing? Positrac is the GM brand name for their limited slip dif's starting in the 60's.

But limited slip is good for that in my opinion. Open dif you're not going to get much traction with only one wheel spinning, and lockers are overkill.

As far as ratios go that's up to you. If you're going to be running lots of short twisty tracks with lots of acceleration, you'll need the low ratios.

And IRS is awesome for handling. Everyone has told me to ditch mine but I honestly love it.
