New or used? That does seem like a deal, but if it is used, I'd look it all over thoroughly.

That's still a very good price. As long as it's all in good working order, you're getting a deal.

you would need to swap out your heads for 99 and up heads and possibly the front cover also.

Not if it's the 96-98 Cobra kit.

Yep, they've made them for four plus years now (bought mine in late '06).

Go with a centri or a turbo...

Dude I have the same one on my 98. Does he have the lower intake with it? I run 7lbs on 91 octane. It dyno'd at 365 to the wheels. I also have a 9 lb pulley which u have to run octane boost. It dyno'd at 405 to the wheels. Bro I love this setup! If it's in good shape that's a good buy. Or pay 3800 for a new one. That's up to you

damn they are only $3800 new? I figured that it was alot more than that but yes, it's complete intake and all it comes with everything, 2.1kb,intake,maf sensor, fuel pump, injectors, etc its everything to bolt it on tune and go. I'm kinda wondering if I would end up with power over what the stock bottom end can handle Im pushing 315 at the wheels right now with my car being cammed full exhaust(cat-less), underdrive pulleys, and throttle body because ive always heard that these engines are good up to 420-450 or so but anything over that is pushing it and i really would not want my car hitting over 415 at the wheels untill I can build a bottom end or buy a shortblock.

Exactly! Your absolutely right bro. I have all those bolt on's now too but I don't care to have it re dyno'd. I had an off road h and simple k&n tho. That's a good price bro but we all know used can be a gamble. I'd have him sign a guarantee or your money back tho. I forget what kenne bell's warranty is, I'd have to look. The extra money for a new one is up to you. If you get it let me know what it dyno'd. I'm curious. Ttyl

That does sound like a "too good to be true" deal, but so was my 97 procharged cobra with 625rwhp for 8gs!....sometimes you luck out!.... Id check it over for play/leaks/smoothness and bring him 1800 cash in hand

No.

Water/methanol injection really helps out. I was able to pick up a fair amount of power after installing a Snow Performance Stage 2 MAF-based system on my XR7 (with the 2.1L KB).

Keep in mind, you don't get a MAF, fuel pump, injectors, etc., for that $3800 price tag. The full setup that you're describing would be in the $4200-$4500 range.
