any silver teminators wingless with a blackout panel?
i did a little bit of searching, but i guess i suck at teh sirch. looking for info on whats involved on going wingless on a terminator. i read that you can get a replacement 3rd brakelight and put that in the deck lid, but what kinda holes will be left in the trunk? same as a GT?
also looking for pics of blackout panels. im comfortable with my painting skills, and i did it to my GT, i just kinda wanna see what it looks like on a cobra, with or with out a spoiler. pics would help, preferrably on light silver cobras. not sure what the color is actually called, but its lighter than mineral grey. any tips and pics are appreciated! |

the best bet is if you dont want the cobra wing take the trunklid off and put it away somewhere and buy one with out the holes or at least a gt lid that will be easier to fill. The cobra lid has a few more holes in it. Theres a thread on svtp that i was just reading about it. As far as the panel goes, i cant say iv ever seen one on a termi but wouldnt be opposed to it!

I'd hate to do anything to really de-value the car. Its has 18000 miles on it and is literally showroom pristine. I do like cobra wings, but I've just fallen in love with the wingless look. I guess it would be a better idea to paint a V6 lid that came from the factory with no spoiler. I'd just like to see some pics on this specific color.

Lol I love the 03-04 wings. I'm not opposed to keeping it, I just wanna see some options. If I can chase down a V6 deck lid and black that out for cheap, I'd do it.

why not just black it out with vinyl...that way if you dislike it you can rip it off...do what i did. go to a sign shop and get a sheet of 3m black vinyl cut. it's a simple thing to put together
as for pics...this isn't a silver termi, but my friends old white one. ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

i did vinyl on my GT. i got the kit from rocky mountain graphics or something, and i didnt really like the fit of it. i got a lot of lifting and ripples in the creases, or where it folded over an edge. then when i peeled it off a week later, it brought a ton of my clear coat and a HUUUUUGE chunk of paint off with it.
the paint came off from right where the ford emblem was, so i just filled the holes and leveled everything with glazing compound, sanded it, and painted it. maybe i'd have better luck cutting my own pieces out of a sheet, but i dont wanna chance an clear coat peeling again. but the ass of your friends car looks fuckin good. i like the way it looks with the wing. thats the kind of pics im looking for. |

Blacked out rear panel does look pretty bad ass! I'd rather get it painted than buying them sticker style kits

the car already has a black and silver theme going on. the PO has two black stripes in the scoops on the hood. i think theyre tastefully done, they kinda have a fade to them. and ill be putting on my black and chrome deep dish bullitts.
the wing will probably stay, but i dig the look of the blackout panel, especially with smoked tails. |
