Motor Install HELP!

So, i got the motor out fine and got it built, now its time for the install. I have the spline of the tranny in the clutch and everything, the motor is sitting on the motor mounts, but the edge of the stud on the mount is touching the outside edge of the whole its suppose to go in... Any suggestions on how to get it the rest of the way in, any hints, secrets, etc?! Ive been goin at it for a few hours and havent been able to get it >=( ive tried readjusting the mount of the hoist and everything possible that pops in my head including man handling it trying to rock it in. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED AT THIS POINT, including just setting it on fire, haha

Solid or poly mounts. If they arent solid just use a crow bar and move it out a bit or if that doesnt work put the mount on the engine and drop it in with the mounts attached

and you say you have the splines in the clutch, is the trans bolted flush to the block with the shaft in the pilot bearing? is the trans mount still hooked up? if so, then you might be bottoming out the top of the trans on the floor board and it can be pretty tight, you might need to undo the trans mount or even lower the cross member a hair by loosening the 6-8 bolts

Just try prying on the motor mounts. Is the transmission bolted up?

yes the transmission was bolted up and the beginning of the shaft was seeming to go in the clutch but the splines werent goin in. I took it as the clutch wasnt lined up right for the splines to slide in correctly. honestly, after 2 days of messing with is and trying to move the clutch to the right spot i just took it to the garage. they called me about an hour ago saying it seemed the EGR piping was hitting the fire wall but i personally pulled the motor out with the EGR valve and piping on it and know that shouldnt be the problem. I should be hearing something within the few hours as to what the problem was. Its been in the shop getting a 301 forged bottom end and i was tired of having the motor done and not in trying to mess with it so i sent it away so I'd have it by the weekend.
