missfire? hesitation?

hi guys,

i have a 2003 mach1, jlt intake, accufab tb, mac off road h-pipe, slp pf cat back, centerforce clutch, and a sct tune. car ran fine after all these mods. but i started getting a missfire and slight hesitation at wot and at idle the car shakes a bit. i changed the sparkplugs to oem, still have the problem. think maybe coils? i had a problem before were water got into the number 4 coil, i replaced it and it ran fine....until now. no water in coil this time. is there a way to ohm the coils? oh ya i forgot after i got it dyno tuned they didnt turn off the o2s and i ran it like that for 4 days then turned them off. and i do not have a check engine light on at this time

Welcome to the forums. Did you try datalogging with your tuner yet?

Well you would have to send to info to a tuner to figure it out.

Check out Joe at Trick Tuners. He works with SCT software and does good work.

He has tuned 2 of my mustangs.

Datalog it, and send out the tune to Joe. He's a stand up guy and will help you out.

well i figured out the problem, i hate to be a parts changer but i couldnt find a way to check each coil so......since my car sleeps next to a 03 cobra, i swaped all 8 coils and the mach1 ran great.

ive been having the same problem with my 04 cobra which sleeps next to my mothers 03 cobra vert. im gonna do the same thing lol idk why i never thought of that.

My GT sleeps WITH an 03 Cobra. Does anybody know the result of this? You don't want to....

Yeah, its a COP or two OP. Happens. Replace with Weapon-X COP(s). Cheaper and higher quality with no retarded bolt required to install it.

my cobra sleeps with a lightning, hahaha

....my cobra had the same problem and i changed the coil packs and problem fixed as well, glad it worked out for you.

your mom is cool "burnout5.0"

just make sure when you put the coils on that u add a bit of dielectric grease....well if you want...i do and make sure you hear a pop noise when pushing down on the coils, i didnt hear a pop noise on 3 of the coils when putting the coils back in the cobra and it didnt run right.

what did you guys change yours with? i ordered accel for mine since msd dosnt sell them for the dohc, i could modify the sohc msd to fit.
