How quick do you wanna go? Go with C heads if you don't already have Bs. The shitty stock rods and pistons will get you into the 11s even with the cast mark 8 crank. If you forge the rods and pistons the cst crank can still be used and would be recommended if the engine will stay under 7500 and 600rwhp.

This depends on a lot of factors but if the car is going to be an 11 second combo (FI or n/a), the mod motor is a much cheaper option. Look at Marks car, stock heads, cams, modified stock intake and it's in the mid 11s. Try that with a stock 351 or 302. Yes, the OP could go buy a 6 liter LS, add cams and be a little quicker, but that may not be an option for the OP.
