Doing some Routine Maintenance soon, suggestions?

Well, finals are over on Friday and I have a few days free at home before flying out to Colorado. I figure what better way to spend my time then work on my car, right? Anyways, there are a few things I already have on the list that I'll finally have time to do because I won't be at school. I posted this in the 4V section in case you Cobra Bro's know some secret tips or anything I should look into while I have the time.

So far these are the things I have planned:

clean air filter

Oil change- hasn't been too long but easy and I'll have the time.

Transmission fluid change- probably unnecessary but someone mentioned a certain oil/friction modifier combo that would smooth the notchy pro50. (T-56)

Brakes-maybe depending on how bad. Recommended brands? otherwise going stock.

Maybe diff fluid and spark plugs...probably not.

Other than that, just a nice quality detail job and I'm set. Is there anything I should look at that isn't already mentioned? What are the best brands for the various parts? The car is my DD but I take it up in the Santa Cruz twisties every now and then, 74,000 miles on the odo. I'm doing all this myself and all I've got is a floor jack and two stands, so no pulling the engine lol.

I assume Prestone is the coolant/antifreeze of choice?

One last thing: I bought the car with no Cobra grille logo, some punk ripped it off. The bracket is still there though. Do I have to pay $20 for a new grille emblem or can I grab a fender emblem cheap and glue it on?

Thanks in advance guys.

tell me more...

For brake I would go with Hawk HPS pads and DOT 5.1 or better fluid. Why? Because Jazzer the Cat said so.

Lucas Tranny Fix is what you add to it.

It looks to be an additive that you can put in at any time. Is this correct? And it really makes the shifter feel noticably smoother?

I would check with Ford to see what they call for. They may have changed their opinion on what it needs like they did with the T-3650.

Change your fuel filter!

I would assume that Lucas tranny fix would be for a transmission that needs fixin. Does yours? We all know how well mechanic in a bottle works.
