Well the 5.4 is on hold at the moment. My mustang is my only car and I cant put it down for a week or month while I do the swap so I have been watching craigslist for a cheap reliable car I can live with. I was looking for some cheap honda or something that will get me to work and not look like shit. Well I don't think I could have done any better than a 95 mark viii with 121k for 650, asking price was 800. I am the third owner, guy before me owned it for 8 years and 60k miles. The motor runs fine, transmission is good, new tires, car brakes better than my mustang, car is rust free, the interior is really comfortable and my insurance is going to drop ~30 a month! Problems with the car are minor, the air ride system doesn't work, most of the clear coat is gone, and there is some front end damage. Its looking like ill spend 400-500 and most an afternoon to do a coil conversion and the next day will be spent in a junk yard fetching replacement parts for the front. I hope to find a 97-98, the front is supposed to be a direct swap and I really like the front. Initially the plan was to spend 500-800 to fix up the mark viii, but im quickly growing attached to it and can see myself spending much more than that to make the care really nice. I am even tempted to do something with the motor as I have a handful of parts I could use for a C head swap.

Dude mark viii are really nice cars. I had a 97 that was a runnin sun of a bitch. Those cars only flaw is the air suspension but coils out of a crown vick are a direct replacement. I ran in to the same problem. But good find man. You should be able to get most of your money back when you decide to sale.
