real quick fuel pump question? please help!

So my fuel pump went out in my 1996 cobra I was planning on putting a new one in when I get everything to install my kenne bell.My question is can I use an svt focus pump in my car because I happen to have a used one laying around. Im planning on a walbro 255 when I install the s/c but for the time being would the svt focus pump work without modding anything? or even a stock 88 5.0 fuel pump work as I have one of those also just need it for a quick fix to run for a month or so oh and I searched about the svt focus pump and alot of diffrent people said yes no and maybe because of the different type of return or retunless system
