buy mach 1 or stick with GT

I have an 01 GT with 113xxx miles, theres a 03 azure blue mach 1 at a local dealership, has 55k miles, black deep dish bullets plus stock wheels, c&l intake, flowmaster exhaust, runs good but has the head tick, he said hed take my car and $5500, or $10500 was the price, my cars paid for and itd be tight but i could swing the payment for $5500 idk whether to swing the payment and be a little tight with money or just stick with the gt and mod it? i love the mach 1s but idk if itd be worth it with the head tick or not? any input on the situation would be appreciated lol.

I wouldn't mess with it unless you don't mind later down the road paying to have it fixed which is not worth it IMO for 10.5. It will get to that point eventually and probably sooner than you think.

You can find Machs with a little bit more mileage for that price that have no problems. I can't believe they want 10,500 for a Mach with the head tick. Now if you get them to come down to like 8k or so then buy it and drive it with the tick, then buy a new motor to build up to put in later!

yeah, thats true, i do see them for 12k or so in good shape with around the same mileage, but i love the 4vs, my car needs valve seals or a rebuild sometime soon, uses 1-2 qrts a between oil changes. but idk, id love to have it but it probably would be smart to keep the gt and rebuild or get some new heads.

Dont ever buy something if it is going to cause you to be tight with money. If you cant buy it without it effecting your current budget/lifestyle, you cant afford it. Stick with the GT and wait for the urge to buy something to pass. Save some money and when the time is right, buy something without a tick...JMO

Do you know why the dealership isn't fixing the head tick? Seems like they could go with a much higher asking price if they would get that taken care of.

I would agree with the other people. I wouldn't do anything that caused me to have a tight budget. If the payment would be too high just save up for a year and get the payment down, then find something next year.

Where in WV are you? I'm down south.
