93 mark viii springs

My buddy picked up a 93 mark, and he is swapping the engine into his gt.

(The 2v bit the dust when a rod decided to leave the block)

I have heard rumors about these springs being crappier than later cobra/mark engines. Do they need to be replaced if he intends to run cobra cams?

Cobra cams will be fine, they only have a little more duration.

EDIT:

96-98 mark viiis/cobras came with beehive valve springs (I know this)

Can anyone confirm that the earlier mark's didnt? That is what looks to be the case....

I use to have a set of 93 mark 8 heads and a set of 96 cobra heads laying around when i did my 4 valve swap in the gt, i cant confirm it but I definetly remember a difference in the springs.

I cant confirm it but I have heard that the later B head cobras had better springs. Either way the cobra cams aren't anything extreme and will be ok.
