Mach 1 lowering springs
So I decided the first mods I want to get right away for my new Mach is a short throw and lowering springs. I was thinking H&R super springs...anyone wanna vouch this is a good choice?
Also, do I just need the springs? How difficult is installation? |

Installation of springs is pretty straight forward. But those springs will require caster/camber plates for a proper alignment.

You might have trouble getting the stock shocks off the stock CC plates. Mine wouldn't come off and I had to cut the bolts. Just said screw it and upgraded to new shocks and glad I did.
Also changed the ball joints, and added a bump steer kit since I already had it apart. Don't know if this stuff was necessary, but I can bomb over bumps and potholes without getting tossed into oncoming traffic. Guess that's worth it. |

Like Wabasha said they aren't required. Technically CC plates aren't required, but you'll wear your tires out fast.

So I'm thinking about going with the springs, MM c/c plates, ball joint, and bump steer. Idk about shocks though...What shocks would be best for a Mach 1?

I went bilstein all the way the ws0 struts work great, but they do make your suspension rock hard.

What dampers are best really depends on what you're using the car for.
Bilsteins are the best all-around damper you can buy for a DD, and one of the best for a handling car (they're also what I run, and what I ran on my Cobra). Koni Yellows are probably better for a competitive corner-carver (unless you can afford to get your Bilsteins custom valved...). For a drag shock, you'd have to ask the other guys... I hear Lakewood and Strange Engineering come up fairly often, though.
