Cool

What supercharger should i go with?

I have a bone stock 96 convert cobra that i am going to have it rebuilt and i was wondering what supercharger i should go with? I was thinking about the kb 2.1 but i dont like how if you want to run more boost you have to run octane booster in it. So i dont know what supercharger i want to go with.. My goal is to have about somewhere in the mid 500hp with it.. SO should i go with a pro charger P-1SC Stage 2 or should i go with the helion turbo kit .......So i could really use some help choosing a supercharger...

I plan to sell my car soon and possibly get a 96 cobra and i am going to go with the procharger but its really all in preference. The 96-98 cobras are more high in cars and i would go with a centrifugal style blower on those

I was about to post the same topic,
I was thinking about 03/04 cobra heads and kenne bell, or twin turbo.

so what all do you have to do to use 03 04 cobra heads and once you put them on you can use a kenne bell supercharger for a 03 04 cobra then correct?

More then just heads, I'm told I basically would need a top end from an 03/04 cobra to run more boost, but I could probably get away with earlier c-heads and and run less boost.
I haven't really thought it all through, I'm in nursing school, so i have no time now to figure it out, just my idea.

Thought: If you only swap heads from an 03-04 and then run a KB kit for a Mach 1 or 99/01 Cobra you might save some coin. If you go all 03/04 Cobra (like the Eaton swap) you will need a sh*t ton of extra front accessory drive parts, as well as a new oil cooler. Not fun.

Also you are aware your motor is going to pop by 500hp right? The PO of my Eaton swap blew his 01 Cobra motor at 498/540, and most people aren't even that lucky, I'd stay below 400. (I already have an 03 motor, so I can turn up the boost all I want. )

As for price it's probably Centri, KB, turbo from cheapest to most expensive.
Of course what kind of power characteristics are you looking for? Each has a different feel to it.

Yeah, I was thinking going that way to save money. When I start powering her up I'm gonna get forged rods and pistons, don't want to be another video on YouTube under blowin' up. My overall goal is something for everything, mostly street. At this point in my life I have more time then money, can't wait till I have time to build something

Yeah, that's the way I was about a year ago. I was planning on getting a used Cobra upper set, and throwing on a set of 99-01 Continental heads. Beyond that all I'd need is a larger fuel pump and I'd be set to put down about 400hp, which is pretty easy, and not too shabby.

However I lucked out and got a better job, so it's a complete Cobra swap now, plus upgraded clutch, input shaft, ported blower, pulleys, fuel pumps, and cams. Shooting for 550hp. The only problem is that the power never seems like enough. The next step was going to be installing a KB or Whipple, but I just might end up going TT after all. Definitely plan things out before you start buying parts.
