FR500 Cam Install Help!
So I'm about to go out the door and go install my FR500 cams on my 03 Cobra motor and...
I realize I don't know which camshaft goes in what position! ![]() The cams are numbered CM-627X-T46, where the X character goes from 0-3. Can anyone shed some light as to which cam goes where? I assume that they'd go 0-1-2-3, but I can't tell if 0-1 on the passenger side and 2-3 on the driver, or vice versa. Any help here folks? I think DickH might have an idea. The sooner I can get these numbers the sooner I can get them in! Note: Cams also have $259 tagged on them. I got all 4 plus springs for $575. Not a bad deal.

Scratch that. I think the ol googley machine gave me an answer.
From Modular Fords: Called the Tech 'Hot Line' (586) 468-1356 and this is what I was told: CM-6270-T46 = P/S Intake CM-6271-T46 = D/S Intake CM-6272-T46 = P/S Exhaust CM-6273-T46 = D/S Exhaust Now as long as they are boxed right I should be good to go. I'm hoping this is correct. I saw a few with this configuration, but I also saw a few claiming that these part numbers are 96-98 Cobra cams? The part numbers overwhelmingly come up as FR500 though. Off to the garage!

What springs did you get? FR500 springs need FR500 valves, unless of course you want to have problems with the springs binding.

Ended up going with the Livernois high lift springs. It was a little cheaper than going with the offset keepers and retainers that would have let me use the FR500 springs.
Hopefully these cams are in fact FR500's. Either way they're in now.

![]() My estimates indicate it should be good for about 20rwhp, maybe more the way I'm degreeing them. Not sure if they'll give much in sound, as the characteristic rough idle is due to vacuum loss from overlap (109/109LSA) and overlap is not good for blower setups, I'll have mine in at 114/114 +3 LSA. I figure the increased lift and duration will give me a nice gain, along with degreeing them at a blower friendly LSA, and giving them a nice 3deg advance.
