Caliper rattle?

So I have a rattle coming from my front driver side. I changed the pads because I assumed that was what it was from. Didn't fix it! When I'm on the brakes hitting bumps it won't rattle. So its got to be something from the caliper making it loose.

Is their some kind of bushing that can wear out in the calipers. Any thoughts

It sounds like you're missing the anti-rattle clips. I did a quick search and only came up with ebay as a place to get them. Ford Mustang Cobra Brake Pad Anti-rattle Clip Stainless | eBay The pics in the auction show you where the clips install into the caliper/pad assembly. I don't know if this is something you can get a the local auto parts store or not.

Yup... I have the same thing happening on mine. Picked up a "front brake hardware kit" from my ford dealership for about 20 bucks. It was a little more then other places but whatever.

you can pick up the kit from most places auto places as well, but I tried places like carquest and they kept ordering the wrong thing. Heres a link for a detailed thread about it:

Clanging in front suspension, any ideas? - SVTPerformance

You guys are right, I'm missing those clips. This is the first time I've done a brake job on it. Don't most pads already have them on??

The last pads I bought came with them. It wouldn't surprise me though for the auto parts stores to pull the clips out of the box in order to give them to another customer who "didn't get them" with their set. Go back to the place you bought the pads and ask them about them, maybe they'll go into another box and pull them for you, thus causing the same headache for the next guy.

Maybe I should . Just glad to know what's causing the rattle....nothing worse than having an obnoxious noise coming from your ride when you hit a bump. Kinda want looks because the car is nice and clean, not because of the noise of the rattle!!

Thanks for the response!
