Bad bearing, cheap replacement?

So this might sound really cheap(it is), but I have this sound I have mentioned before in previous threads. So lets say it really is a spun bearing, but it hasnt caused much damage yet, can I take a used bearing from my spare Mark VIII engine I have and replace it with one from that? Just as a temporary fix until my career as a porn star kicks off and I can afford to buy a forged internals kit... Thanks guy

no you can't. for two reasons
1-there's a reason you spun a bearing. you might need to go over/under on the crank because of damage, you'll just spin one again
2-because a used bearing is garbage to put in place of a spun bearing.

if you're broke, park it for awhile until you can afford to do it right. hopefully you have a spare car to drive. i'm not calling you cheap, but that is a sure way to have to do things twice. and not only that, if all the damage you have now is an easy fix, you could make it 10x more expensive to fix later on.

unfortunately when you spin a bearing, you'll have to find out why you spun a bearing, fix the problem, and then go from there. plus, there could be bearing material in your oil galleys that would need cleaned out. if that gets in another journal, say goodbye to that bearing as well.

Dammit, that sucks to hear, I guess i'll have to start saving up...Ok, another idea(and yes, you can call me cheap lol) lets say I pull my engine drop in my Mark VIII engine, swap the cobra cams and intake mani, and get a pilot bearing to switch it to an automatic just until I rebuild the cobra motor?

EDIT: REP's btw for the help

Like he said, your original idea is possible, but not a good idea.

This one seems like an awful lot of work, but entirely possible. Seems like a PITA to swap motors on it twice, but it's not my car.
Also what year car are you swapping it into?

Hello, I am a red flag.

You are aware you can't swap over your intake system from the 01 right? Pre 99 motors are B-head, post are C-head. Other than that it'll work.

No offense of course, just wanted to make sure you're all set if you do swap. Didn't want you to bolt in the MKVIII motor and go "Fuck. Intake doesn't work."

Yeah they will absolutely swap. However for the cost of gaskets and studs (as well as time) it might be cheaper to just get a different intake manifold.

I'm an engineer. What else would you expect?

...also I've done way too much research and spent way too much money on this kind of crap, now I've been endowed with all sorts of wisdom.

Well Maybe I could just settle for less horsepowah until I can go forged and do the regular Mark VIII swap, all my bolt-ons should still fit correct?

If you have a DD for the mean time, just take your time do it once and do it the way you really want using your $/time to reach your real goal instead of "playing around". There will still be plenty of things to do to keep ya busy i'm sure. JMO

yeah I just really hope I can recoup what I spent on my Mark VIII engine purchase and all the brand new parts, hopefully after I sell it all off I can buy the forged kit, granted I dont have ALL the proper tools to do a rebuild but I will pay someone to do it for me, as for my 98 GT I plan to sell it and buy an old 78-79 Bronco I really love that body style, and miss having a truck terribly
