Stuck between two exhaust help!

I am looking at two different exhaust for my 1994 Mustang cobra, i was looking at youtube for the most accurate sounds of the exhaust for my car. I came to the conclusion of either slps I or II or the magnaflow maganapack exhaust. They will both be cat backs. I am not sure what i want to get though. I want an exhaust that you can hear me coming and has a nice loud muscle tone while driving. Anything helps thank you!

I personally like the lm1s on the sn95 cobras, but its all in personal preference. They will also be the loudest of the three.

I might get flamed for this, but....I had an O/R X and Flowmaster 40's on my 95 Cobra.
Got compliments all the time. I know you didn't list that as an option, but I loved it on my 95.

Va boy thanks for posting! Nothing wrong with your opinion i am always open for suggestions even if i dont list them. How did the cobra sound with just the flowmaster 40's?

I thought it sounded great with just the 40's. I've always thought the Flowmaster 40's were made for the 5.0 engines. Some people think they are played out, yeah a lot of Mustangs have them, but there is a reason for that! The cattless X added more of a raw sound to it, it was a bit loud, but I still think my 95 sounded better than my 03 does. I'd really like to get some long tubes and possibly an O/R X for the 03. I really missed the sound of my 5.0 compared to the 4V 4.6, but it's starting to grow on me now.

Thanks for another response, man sounds like i have to look up some combinations for the flowmaster 40's. Maybe they can be thrown into the mix of set-ups. I cant believe it sounded better then your 03, but that can be easily changed with some long tubes and o/r x. They sound amazing

I know there are more options out there now than when I had my 95, but back then, 40's were it. The sound of the modular in my 03 has grown on me, it was all stock when I bought it and sounded very tame. I've put a Magnaflow CB on and it sounds pretty good. Considering Borla Stingers or MAC, maybe Bassani with O/R x and LT's. So many options as you well know. Anyway, didn't mean to hi jack your thread with exhaust talk for my car. Good luck and post a sound clip when you do decide!

I have the magnaflow magnapack with a hi-flow cat x-pipe and it sounds really good. I love the straight thru design of the mufflers. Very loud and aggressive on my 99 cobra.

of the three you listed, I have the magnapacks on my cobra...but I'm sure the engine sounds completely different. IMO the LM1's are obnoxiously loud, but a lot of people like it. Magnaflows seem to smooth out exhaust a lil but thats just me. Muffler preference is sort of like "whats your favorite color" it depends and its opinion (except catless LM1's that is terrible idea lol jk but it is). It's like, some people think yellow mustangs look good (he he)

yes, but what really helps that is the O/R H pipe. ive heard the same setup with an X pipe and they sound different. The H pipe really lowers the tone that is pushed out... I love it.

X pipe will gain you 1-2 more HP, but to me, Im still glad I went H.

If you want loud then lm1's are the exhaust for you.

Thanks thumbie, I get what your saying with the LM1's and i think thats whats holding me back that they might be to loud. Also with LM1's i have heard some of them sound like tractors or something along the lines of that and just dont sound nice. Ive been looking up some more magnaflow and they do really tone the car out, give it a nice rumble to it and sounds pretty good. Your exactly right about muffler preference so many options.

Did the H pipe give them a tractor sound to it, because i have heard some systems that sound like that.

No, not at all.

LM1's are loud. screaming loud.

Ive had cops listen as I drive away, then later ask me.. Your exhaust isnt legal, is it...?

LM1 > LM2 for loudness, but I think LM2 > LM1 for actual decent sound.
