I wouldn't worry about head tick, I would worry about the condition of the car. Was it smashed, miles rolled back, beat, modified then returned to stock. How are the brakes, shocks, tires, and condition of the interior. Does the car smoke during start up? How was it maintained?

How would I tell if the miles are rolled back? other than that the carfax was clean. Also any indications for previous mods other than them being half assed when they were taken out.

Look at the wear of the car. If the pedals are worn bad, and the seats beat to shit, and ripped and the odometer reads 30k mi are you going to buy it. You should know when driving the car, if the car feels really loose, has some rattles then either A. it was beat to shit, or B. it has a ton of miles on it.

Also you'll know if certain things were replaced. I suggest you take someone along who knows cars well... Good luck.

Thanks, and nothing specific to the Mach then?

just listen to it and drive it to make sure that nothing sounds or feels out of the ordinary. if you like it i would try to get that price down a little though because Machs are selling pretty cheap

So I checked it out today, no rust, drove great checked out all the typical problem areas that I've found with my v6 and nothing. But the check engine light came on while I was driving it..... Its at a dealership in mass so it has the state guaranteed warranty so they would have to fix anything before I bought it but idk. I have had a few stupid check engine lights on my v6 light the gas cap not seating properly, and also having to replace my fuel filler neck early last year, but idk if I want to get into something with a CEL already.

What do you guys think? good buy at like 13500?

BTW hes going to call me on monday to tell me what caused the CEL and I'm going to go from there.

Auto or manual? Oh, and I bought my 04 Azure Blue M5 Mach1 with 2700 Mi for $19,500 back in 2006.

that sounds like an ok price assuming the body is also in very good condition. i would want to know what that CEL is before deciding anything though. did they show you a carfax?

Yeah thats what I'll do, carfax is clean, I'm betting it was an o2 sensor or something simple

You paid an arm and a leg for yours. I see Mach's with similar miles go for 4-5k less all of the time... Just saying..

I bought an 04 back in 2006 with 2,790 miles. It belonged to a Ford Dealership Mechanic. It had the plastic still on the floor mats and seats. You don't get anymore unmolested than that. I only paid $19,500.00 back then. See what I am saying? When I sold th car 3 years later it only had 11,000 miles, had seen rain once, and was just as impeccable.
