Sold the 99 picking up an 03 cobra tomorrow :)

Well the cobra went down the road today but looking at getting an 03 tomorrow that probably is going to need a rebuild, has 107k on the clock and guy says it has a slight miss and compression is low on that cylinder. Going to trailer it home seems to be really straight from the pictures if i get it ill post some pics. 9k seem like too much for an 03 with possibly a bad motor if everything else is straight?

I would pass on the car. But if your willing to build a motor it maybe worth it

Thats the thing i can build the motor, i actually have a termi motor i could rebuild and throw in when its done. I just talked to the guy again he knows nothing about cars but says he cant feel the miss until he steps on it, cant hear any knocking or anything but he just knows its not running right. I guess a guy just told him it pry has low compression. Its a really clean car think im gonna do it maybe ill luck out and its just a coil or a plug but if its the motor i got another fun project to work on.

i guess i got lucky on my cobra. its got a little higher miles as well but it runs like a champ and hulls ass down the track. i did a compression check on my car before i bought it and did alot of up and down checks on it. the only thing wrong with mine when i bought it is the diff bushings were shot but i had an sra to swap in when i bought it so it wasnt a big deal.

as for those wheels, they are ugly but its not a super expensive fix.

Did a compression test on the car, cylinder 1 has 60 psi of compression and the spark plug was flat sounds kinda familiar to what happened with my 99.

Sure is, i have all fall and winter to work on it though so should be running and looking like new by next spring. Not sure what looks best for wheels with this color thinking anthracite fr500s like i had on my 99.

Question for you guys, so today i was under the car cause i was getting everything ready to pull the motor and i noticed something very interesting. I didnt find a cast iron block i found a nice shiny amuminum block with absolutely no corrosion on it all so i know it hasnt been in there long. Im almost 100% sure its a teksid but there is no date or webing stamped in it at all just the rough aluminum finish all the way around. No date stamped in either head either. I should have the motor out tomorrow didnt have much ambition since I do nothing but turn wrenches all day at work.
