New Mustang Owner :-)

Hey guys,

I am new to the site. I have been looking around for a little over a month or so as I recently acquired an 04 Mach 1.....I will post pics in the next couple weeks hopefully. I was wondering what would be a great start for mods, I was planning on putting Borla catback exhaust with a CAI, not sure which one I want yet but leaning towards K&N setup. Sound like a good first start?

i personally dont really like k&n stuff. the idea is good. but theres better stuff out there imo. for the mach, if it was me , id go with a c&l if i had the money. but for the price. you cant beat a jlt...again. just my opion. knfilters are overrated.

Oh my bad, I was looking at the C&L, not K&N because even though its $50 more it looked cleaner imo

JLT is good. I'd start with a set of 4.30 gears and a tuner.

I like the C&L RAI it keeps the shaker hood scoop functional. I don't believe that the JLT does, but you can't go wrong with either.

DO NOT INSTALL UNDERDRIVE PULLEYS!!!

I had Borla Stingers on my car for a while. They sound like sex on a 4v, but everyone has them. Go on youtube and listen around. I think Mac's sound the meanest with a Mac Pro Chamber Mid Pipe.

I say a 4.30 gear for the most fun, 4.10 if you do a lot of expressway driving.

Intake Spacers from either Paul's High Performance or Roy Cole Intakes.

Aluminum Driveshaft from FRPP

MGW Shifter, I have tried the Steeda Tri Ax, and the UPR Blue Thunder. MGW is my favorite.

Subframe Connectors, I got mine from Maximum Motorsports.. You can get them anywhere though..

Upper and Lower Control Arms. I highly reccomend either the Team Z ones or HPM Megabytes. I ran the HPM's in my car.

Lowering Springs, I had H&R Super Sports. They give it a great stance.

There is a ton more that you can do with the car. That list will give you a great starting point...

Anything that is a ram air intake (RAI) keeps the Shaker functional. Cold air intakes (CAI) do not.

I dont think its mineral grey like it says in your sig. It has to be dark shadow grey. Or did they make machs in mg?

Been so long since I had a Mach, or bought parts. LOL! I think if I remember correctly I bought the C&L because of its metal construction. It was more nitrous friendly...

Carfax said it was a Mach 1 so I am guessing that I was just wrong on the color and it must be dark shadow grey
