2012 gt500.

Came into work monday to see an all black GT500 sitting in the lot. MY boos traded in his V series for it.

I noticed today that the rear tires arent wearing on the edges. Know I know traction will be an issue with that thing but the right tire pressure would help. MY boss was just tellin me the pressure was at 38-39 psi and he dropped it to 35psi this morning. That still sounds a lil high to me, but what do you guys run?

Recommended tire pressures should be labled in the drivers door jam somewhere.

I havent looked not my car, but he has the optional 285 tires over the 255. So if they call out the psi for 255 it would be lower for the 285s. Plus Ford isnt always looking to get peak performance.

What does the max psi on the tire read?

have him drop it to 25ish maybe 30 if he doesn't want to go that low.

Yeah, not wearing on the shoulders means there's too much pressure in the tires for how the car is being driven. I'd guess that the tires should have 30-32 lbs in them, but I'd start with whatever the doorjamb sticker says and work from there.

Yeah I told him to play with it in 2 psi increments. See if he does or not. Guess I could always go out and drop it when hes not outside and ask him hows its doin?

Ill be like a car fairy

It would've gave us a guideline.. I don't own a GT500 that I would know...

285's are on the rear of ALL the 2011+ GT500's, only size option available is if you have the Performance package you get the 20's on the rear instead of the 19's.

I run my tire pressure at 32 psi. on the street, didn't track the car yet but plan on dropping it to around 25 at the track.
Don't think it will help much though.

Goodyear supercar tires suck.
