dont worry about spending the money on different maf or injectors till you to the point of pushing you stock ones. 4.6's can push well over 400rw n/a with the right stuff, its been done by plenty of people. as for the 5.4; rev's, pistons speed, compression factors, are some things that are not in their favor.

but still, id rather get my injectors changed out while I'm in there, and one reason i want a new maf is because the stock one look REALLY small compared to my JLT RAI. And for $200 for a few extra hp as well as making my intake look less like an hour-glass is something im willing to throw cash at

well, the JLT tubing is huge no matter what maf you pair with it. have a set ready when you go to the dyno but wont need them till them. the stock injectors will get you to the 375ish rwhp mark and 360ish for the MAF.

The MAF still becomes a restriction though. No point in having that CAI/RAI if all the more air you can flow is what comes through the MAF.

stock bore/stroke 4.6s can make well over 400rwhp but they aren't streetable and require a trans that can shift at 8000rpm.

i know he's not making it up. i am talking about the streetability factor. well over can be done, i never any way implied it cant. some of you 4v guys act like i dont know what i'm doing/talking about sometimes

The fact is that there are very few stock cubic inch, streetable, n/a 4.6s that make over 400rwhp (dynojet SAE). Furthermore, I know of none that make that much power at an RPM that is manageable by a stock Mach 1 computer. If the stock Mach computer can't manage it, that means the stock trans can't transfer the power because it won't shift at that RPM level.

The only way to get oever 400rwhp and keep the RPM level (under 7200) to a manageable level you must increase the compression to a point that requires more than 93 octane.

Now there are ways to get there without high compression but the combo will lack midrange hp/tq making the car no fun to drive on the street.
