I used Royal Purple 100% the time in my Mach 1, my cobra has only ever seen Mobil 1. Honestly their both great! But I think its good to keep using what evers been in the car. If you have no complaints or problems in my opinion theres really no reason to change it.

i use valvoline vr1 racing oil.from what i understand the most important thing when deciding on what oil to buy is look at the zinc (zddp)level.zinc is the most important anti friction agent in oil.a few years back the government made oil companys drop the zinc level from 0.105 to0.80.that made alot of high performace engies wear out cams really fast.imo i think any regular oil u buy that doesnt have added levels of zinc is s__t,i wouldnt put it in my lawnmower.there are a few companys like valvoline vr1 redline and a few others that do offer the oil with the high zinc levels.

You guys sure do like brands huh?

Put the weight it says...ie 5w-20. ANd then go buy Motorcraft. Its a syn blend and is one of the cheaper oils on the shelf...esp being a blend. I run it in my 8000rpm Big bore motor and it works great. I ran it in my TT build and when I tore the motor down, the bearings looked like they had 1 startup on them.

Ford Motorcraft oil FTW.

It's easier and cheaper for me to order a case of 5w-20 Royal Purple from the distributor where I buy $4000 worth of diesel, gasoline, 15w-40, and hydraulic fluid from than it is to drive to the Ford Dealership. Brand names don't mean shit. Cost and Convenience do however....

^ Thats what Im saying. And just so you know. They carry Motorcraft oil at Wal-Mart. No need to go to the dealership. And not all of us have the convenience of ordering oil the way you do. But Im sure all of us live next to a Wal-mart. lol.
