Aftermarket intake.


Well its been over 20k miles since I've looked at the filter...

Should I go with C&L ($359.99), K&N ($294.99) or JLT ($159.99)?

K&n drop in (40$) and put the other 320 you woulda spent on the C&l on something like a tuner

k&N, looks stock, less heat soak (plastic), and more straight through than stock with a drop in filter.

I've always stuck with K&N, they've done me no wrong. Air filters and oil filters, I use K&N.

C&L is the better of the group if you plan on spraying the car.

I'm glad you said that because I might build it to withstand a 150 shot. I'm kind of making it look nice and doing basic modifications right now so that I can transfer them over after the build.

So, why is C&L good for spray?

The cast metal construction is stronger, and it has a boss in the tube for nitrous kit.

My future power goals are at least 450 from a 5.3 kit, and if I spray, then I want 550. Stock intake can handle that?

No. Stock intake is a huge power killer. I was talking about any aftermarket CAI. You're planning on going F/I correct?

I have the K&N. I like it, nice clean look. I took the MAF screen out, had stalling issues at first.. Got AM to send me another tune, and its been good ever since.

I was talking about CAI/RAI as well.

Nope, NA. I'm going with a 5.3 kit so I won't have to spin so high to reach my power goals.
