Hey guys well i have $305 dollars to put into lowering my car which is the next thing i want to do to it once i get my oil leaked fixed this friday, and my question is do i really need cc plates? Because if i do then im going to have to save up even more money in order to do this drop that im dyeing to do! anyone can give me some help or solutions?? please

damn man i cant even really find springs that give me a 2 inch drop, the h&r springs are only like a 1.7 inch on am, you know any company that can give me that drop?

i havent even lowered my car either and im dying to do it too.

damn, yea i had to get this oil leak fixed and i thought it was going to be the rear main and it turns out its just a gasket that has to be replaced and wayy cheaper then the rear main seal of course so i have some extra money to spend, and lowering is next on my list

i had to fix the rear main seal in the trans am, damn its costy
and yeah i think im going to lower it when income tax time comes around, at the moment im trying to sell the mach1 wheels and get ahold of a 99-01 cobra bumper.

yea i know i did haha, and yea i had to fix the rear main seal on my 04 gt i had and it was really costly. That sounds like a good idea what drop are you thinking of going with?? haha thanks man i love your mach 1, if i had the money i would have bought one or actually a termi, in my area there was one going for 14k with 60xxx miles but i just coudnt at the time so i settled for my 01 cobra, but i love it so i aint complaining

i payed $11k for mine with 65000 and haha i wouldnt call it "settling" when it comes to a 01 cobra and i was thinking of going with the H&R Super Sports springs. and thanks for the compliment, your cobra is badass. i would seriously have a hard time choosing between my car and yours!

Damn that was a steal bro for real, and yea its an amazing car man way better and faster then i thought, i went from an 04 gt to a 04 srt4 to a 01 cobra so this was a huge upgrade. Yea i like h&r springs but they dont give me the drop i want. I like your car though better just because mach's are more rare then cobras like years produced wise. All though a true blue cobra is a really rare color for a cobra. 2001 was the only year with true blue cobras i bought mine kind of overpriced i guess for $8700 with 97xxx miles

and i just got random $60 more dollars so my budget is $365 now i think im going to buy the j&m cc plates on am for $165 they have good reviews and everything and are way cheaper then the rest, so which leaves me with $200 for a set of some springs

i like the color of mine but damn every mach i see is either blue or black lol
even at college there is two other machs and both are blue !

Haha thanks man ppl always think i got it painted this color because they never seen cobras this color haha, and yea i know almost all the machs are your color but its a sick ass color combo none the less, for that price you got it for you coudnt pass it up . My favorite color for the machs are the all black or the all white with the black stripes

Anything I think below an 1.5 in drop will probably need CC plates to bring it back to factory spec alignment. With CC plates it just allows for castor and camber adjustment over the very limited stock plates which are riveted to the strut towers. What springs are considering getting. Also might want to consider maybe a bumpsteer kit if you lower it around 2 in drop. Down the road you will also need struts and shocks since the OEM ones will begin to go out. They are not valved for a lowering spring with a stiffer spring rate.

I would recommend H&R Super Sport springs. I not to familiar with J&M CC plates, but I do recommend Maximum Motorsports ones. I have a few of there parts and they have great quality. Just my 2 cents.

Are you just looking to lower the car or more geared for handling, drag etc.
It will be hard to find a good set of springs for $200. MIght be able to get used ones.

What are your ultimate goals for your mustang?

Ok cool go for them. Will you get struts and shocks later.

I got about 2 months out of my OEM struts before they started to leak.
