Longtubes arrived today

i ordered flowtech long tubes and bbk o/r x-pipe, but when i was under the car getting it ready for the install, i realized the car already has a catted bassani x-pipe, so i decided to just cut the cats off, send the flowtechs and o/r x-pipe back, and spend the extra money on bbk long tubes, as i've had nothing but great experiences with bbk.

i'm not too impressed with the packaging, the welds, or the fact that they came with rust on them, but i guess i'll have to deal with it, as i keep hearing of these issues with bbk headers.

my question - are the supplied gaskets suitable to use? or should i shell out the extra money and buy OEM gaskets?

Spend the money on better gaskets, I made that mistake and 20 track passes later had an exhaust leak

I always run copper gaskets on everything I do, unless I have the engine out then I just use High Temp RTV. My car now has SCE Copper gaskets on it.

I like the cheap woven steel ones that Felpro makes. 9$...cant go wrong and never had an exhaust leak.

BBK > Flowtech anyday.

Hell... Anything > Flowtech.

I love my flowtechs. of course im not one that bitches if something doesnt bolt up exactly perfect right away. Working for my pops building drag cars and street rods from scratch, nothing fits because you fabricate it to fit so I had no problem sanding down my exhaust flange on my flowtechs to make the straight and thats all that mine needed.

^ I agree. but like I said. I didn't want to dent primaries for steering shaft, dent them for hitting a tubular K member! lol. And them rubbing the right unibody...yuck...
