it depends what you consider smog legal, if your state requires a smog sticker like cali does for performance parts added then i would say stick to supercharger. if not a proper sized turbo always nets good power but can be a pain to install. i run a whipple 2.9 on my car with the stock 7.5 crank, and 3.5 upper and make 18# of boost. if you go centri a budget build would be a ysi trim for 3100, then buy the brackets and fab your own ic up. a d1 is ok but your really going to be pushing it so i would say a f1 from procharger is the better choice but it is expensive.

stay the hell away from eaton!

if you have a welder and can do pipe work, turbo gets my vote. thats the way i plan to go within the next few years. otherwise, ProCharger!

just a friendly reminder if you choose procharger, spend the extra for a f1 with the 3 core ic. you will see lots of power with that combo rather than trying to turn the snot out of a p1-d1sc.

Whipple. But 20lbs is a lot of boost and you should expect to spend $20 to $30 thousand to get that and have a drivable car.

For a really nice street car 450rwhp from a Eaton is ideal. Eatons run cooler than screw blowers at normal driving speeds and they only have a disadvantage when asked to do more then they are designed for. The refined roots of a Eaton or TVS is a fairly small SC so 450rwhp to 500rwhp is about the limit and they don't make any bigger.

I vote turbo!

I roots type blower is going to be more fun on the street, from light to light and such, but from the look of your sig, you like to track your car.

I'm not sure what your power goals are, but whatever it is, you can get there on less psi with a turbo. 20 psi on a roots blower? Get ready to replace belts, and clean up belt dust often.

this is going on your BAB cobra, right???

if so you are kind of limited on your options of a roots blower unless you would swap from your stock B heads to the later C heads.

that would open up ALOT more options

For the power your looking to make op it is best to buy the right size sc for what you want.turning a small blower fast enough to make big numbers will cause problems with belt slip and wear. Getting a large sc made to push bog boost will require less service and longer life on the sc. I run a whipple 2.9l on my cobra and have never chewed up a belt or had extensive dust cause I run the stock upper and lower pullies and make 18# of boost. That is why I say stay away from the small superchargers like eaton and p1sc

Vote was Turbo.

I would think that you might want to look and read this thread.
On3 Performance Turbo Kit Install

The kit is 2300 out the door to your house. I am running the same kit. There is a 45x or 46x dyno sheet in there on his car running 8psi and fuel cut at 5.5rpms. i believe after he fixed the fuel issues he was over 500hp on 8psi. thats impressive power for the buck..... Hard to not give this kit a look
