Needing some tips

Ok, so I am probably going to feel like an idiot after posting this, but my car doesn't have cats on it, came that way.I'd like to put cats back on it and keep it as close to stock as possible, and so it stops running so lean since I don't have a turner to shut them off.How hard is it to instal new cats and where could I get them from besides ford and how many does the stock SVT cobra have.

Easiest way is pick up a stock midpipe and bolt it in. If things go well it's a 30min job, 8 bolts total. The stock midpipe has 4 cats, 2 per side.

Best of all you can probably trade someone straight across, your catless O/R midpipe for someones stock catted midpipe.

I have a Bbk Catted x pipe for sale. Trust me, you don't want the stock one. It is sooooooo restrictive. Lmk if you would be interested in mine. Feel free to text me, 716-931-3248.

Or you could always get, for example, pypes high flow cats off american muscle and have them welded in (or even clamped in I guess).

I'm not to worried about it being super restricted, as of right now, I'm wanting to get rid of the light on the dash and the stupid code that is making me run super lean since there is no cats there.Once I get money I'll probably get a full exhaust and get it done professionally but as of right now stock is just fine with me.

Also, will 2 High Flow Cats, get rid of the check engine light?Or am I still going to have to wait to find a place to tune it -.-

No cats wont make you run lean, your front 02 sensors is what reads your air to fuel ratio. Rear 02s are only to check the cats, so no cats should not be the cause of you going lean. Maybe your money would be better spent getting a hand held tuner and turning off the rear 02s? Then you can check things to see whats up with the car going lean.

No cats will not make you run lean. Not at all. Those shops are lying to you.

The only thing they affect is the downstream HOS's, and those are only used by the ECM to determine catalyst efficiency. Upstream HOS's handle lambda control.

The only code you'll be getting IIRC is P0420, catalyst efficiency. Easiest/cheapest is stock pipe. A catted X like Cody is selling works, improves performance, but not as cheap.

If you really don't want to turn wrenches, buy a set of MIL eliminators. Those will turn the CEL off, and all you have to do is plug them in between the HOS's and the harness.

Alright, well I have a list of the codes my car is throwing, one of two of them are the Catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1 and 2.(Codes P0420 and P0430)

Code P0190-Fuel Rail pressure sensor circuit malfunction(Was told not making enough fuel pressure to check fuel filter and fuel cap?)

Code P0455-EVAP emission control system leak(LARGE)?

Code P0457 EVAP emission control system leak cap loose/off.

The last two I was told are linked together. If someone has information let me know since this is my first Cobra I'm ok having to spend a lil on her, the kid who had her before I wasn't a very smart person and only had her for 1.5 months and mommy made him give it back so yeah has a few things, but body, and stuff is perfect and I can do a lot my self just need some experienced 4v/SVT people to guide me once in a while

1.) Catalyst inefficiency due to no cats. Stock midpipe, hi flow cats, or MIL eliminators will fix that. No harm in running it as is, most people run catless midpipes.

2.) Fuel pressure circuit malfunction- I'd have to see if this is failed in range, or failed out of range. Possible causes include fuel filter, FRPS going bad, fuel pump on its way out, or FPDM on its way out. Filter is always easy to change, even with the pesky IRS in the way. Putting a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail can tell you if the pressure is actually low and how low. Very easy.

3/4.) Evap leaks are a pain in the ass. It basically means fuel vapor is getting out of the tank somewhere. The most common location on these cars is the filler neck grommet. It can also come from that mess of evap lines on the tank, and the cap. Evap does not harm your car whatsoever, so don't lose sleep over it.

Of course if all those problems get to be too much I'll gladly take it off your hands.

Knock yourself out.

I certainly learned my share between actually making my heap of junk roadworthy, swapping drivetrains, and doing some prototype builds at work.
