I would have a GT500 over a termi anyday. Termi's are mean and great in their own right, but the GT500 is a much more 'refined' car. I think the Termi's get so much hype because of the factory eaton. If Ford would have made a 05-10 cobra, slapped a small TVS or something on it and forged the motor from the factory with 450hp stock, the termi craze would have died down instantly. Unfortunatly they did not, so the termis are the best 'bang for buck' mustang you can get. yeah they made GT500's which is waht i described in a nut-shell, but the price tag on those at the time put them out of reach for your average joe.

All that being said, my 03 has much more of a raw, muscle car feel to it.
2 completely different cars with the exception of the superchargers.
I'd love to add a GT500 to the stable, but would never sell my Terminator to get one.
To each his own I guess?
I agree completely with this, I think the 99-04's were one of the best hybrids of muscle car and a little bit of luxury. The termi's were slightly nicer with the seats/mirrors/etc making it worth the money (not to mention the obvious performance.) Weighing only 3200lbs stock compared to the upwards of 3800 on the newer cars the 99-04's are more muscle car feeling . However if I was older and was focused on one car as a DD and still fun I would get the gt500, you just can't beat the build quality! Not to mention the new 2013 shelby's coming and will make the terminators look like little brothers, granted they will probably be closer to $60k out of the factory compared to $30k for the termis originally.

Terminators did not weigh 3200 lbs. It's more like 3600/3700. And 10 years plus the inflation we've had will do that to the price of a high end sports car.

Terminators are beautiful that's why I got mine. IMO a GT500 will never compete with a Termi when it comes to looks.
