what all will i have to do computer wise to get a 4r70w automatic to work in a cobra

You will need a custom tune. Unlike other models, you can't just get an auto computer because the Cobra never came with one, and if you use another model computer, you lose some of the Cobra features, or may have to do some re-pinning.

A tuner can do it. In fact I'm sure there's plenty of tuners that could probably e-mail it seeing as you're not changing any of the tables for it. Not to mention there's a fair share of turbo 03/04 Cobra's out there running autos. You might want to ask one of those guys who does their tune.

You have been misinformed... I had an 03 cobra motor with my stock 2000 GT computer, all the tuner has to do is reflash the whole EU with a cobra map. the only thing you lose is the IAT2 sensor, thats it.

That's what I was saying. You can run it, but you will lose some features.
(I'm also running my 03 motor with an 00 GT ECM.)

Either way you'll need some sort of re-tune, so it would be much easier to just use your Cobra computer and get it tuned for auto.

If you get an auto car ECM, you'll still need to retune to the Cobra maps.

So if you just re-tune your existing one to auto, that's a lot less work.

As in fuel/timing maps for a Cobra?

I will be getting them from Amazon. Who knows, I might already. I got the tuner/wideband/tune package from them, and I haven't even opened the XC3, it might even be loaded in there. If not they owe me one.

Also forgot another thing that the Cobra harness has that the GT doesn't, the boost bypass solenoid. I feel like there may be a few other ones as well, but IAT2/BAP and boost bypass are the big ones.

i am doing a 4r70w swap into my 03 Cobra since i am going twin turbo, and this is what i plan on using. ive heard lots of good things about it and the guys at their technical service seemed extremely helpful and said they have special pre-programmed trans tunes for terminators. plus you can fine tune yourself how ever you see fit after.
